Banner

Banner is a system SUNY Adirondack uses to allow students to conduct business with the college. Through Banner, you register for courses, print class schedules, review and accept your financial aid, obtain your login information, find access information for the campus wireless network and, if you are a student employee, check your payroll.

When you apply for full-time admission or register for courses at SUNY Adirondack, you are assigned a Banner ID number.

Once assigned, these numbers never change and stay with you regardless of status within the college.

When you first log in to your Banner account, your personal identification number (PIN) is your birth date in a six-digit format (mmddyy). You will be required to change your PIN to a new one with a minimum of six characters but not more than 15. Numbers, special characters and alpha-numerics can be included in your PIN. Remember: PINs are case sensitive. If you use an uppercase letter in your PIN, you must remember to capitalize the character when typing in your PIN in the future.

More about Banner

The first time you access your Banner account, you will be prompted to enter a security question and answer. You will use this security question to access your account if you forget your PIN. The answer you type in is case sensitive so be careful when using uppercase letters. Pick a question and answer that only you know. (Banner ID numbers are not considered secure information like your social security number, so they are available on schedules, bills and faculty class lists. If someone knows your Banner ID and the answer to your security question, they will be able to access your account.)

If you can't remember your PIN, type in your Banner ID in the appropriate box and press the button that reads "I cannot access my account." You will be prompted to answer your security question. If you answer the question correctly, you will be allowed to access your Banner account. If you cannot remember the answer to the question, click the button that reads "I do not know the answer." If you registered an email account with SUNY Adirondack, you can enter it and your information will be sent to that account. Once you obtain access to your Banner account, you should follow the procedure for resetting your password so you can obtain access easily in the future.

If you attempt to access your Banner account three times unsuccessfully, your account will be locked. We have no way of knowing if the owner of the account is having an issue remembering their password or if someone is attempting to break into your account, so this is a security measure.

To get your account unlocked, you can bring a photo ID to:

  • The Registrar's office in Warren Hall anytime from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday;
  • The Student Computing Lab in Scoville Learning Center, Room 127, anytime during regular lab hours;
  • SUNY Adirondack Saratoga
