Commencement

Commencement, the College’s annual graduation ceremony, is held once per year at the end of the spring semester in May.  Students participating in commencement shall wear black cap and gown regalia, in conformance with college standards.  The regalia is available for purchase through the campus bookstore.

SUNY Adirondack confers degrees and awards certificates following the close of the fall, spring and summer semester.  Students will be contacted by the Student Success Center regarding commencement eligibility. In order to be eligible to participate in Commencement, students need to be registered for the courses required to complete their degree requirements no later than the summer semester following commencement.

All students who are interested in participating in the commencement ceremony must fill out a Commencement Participation form and have it handed in to the Student Activities Office on or before May 1st.

Once the Commencement Participation form is received and approved, ceremony information will be sent to the permanent address designated in Self-Service Banner.

The College reserves the right to deny participation in commencement for any student who is or was involved in disciplinary proceedings.
